About
My name is Brett Mouron Jr., I am 25 years old, I currently live in Mobile, Alabama, and I have a full time job as a web designer for a trade magazine called Elevator World.
Graphic Design has been apart of my life for over 10 years now. I also consider myself a Fine Artist as well, specializing in drawing and painting. Ever since I was very little I have been in love with art. I eventually found out you can make money of what I love doing, so I went full speed ahead with it at a young age. Who doesn’t want to get paid to do what they love?!
I graduated Murphy High School in Spring 03′ and went to the University of South Alabama in Fall of 04′ and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in Spring 09′. I cherish my later years spent in upper level graphic design classes there. I developed a great relationship with my classmates and with my professors. I understood the importance of communication and community in the program.
I have been freelancing for over 3 years now and have had clients such as True (Fine Dining Restaurant), Azalea Cty DJs, Royal Street Tattoo, Carpe Diem Coffee & Tea Co., Rebecca Roubion (local singer songwriter), and now dispersed touring sensation Dearestazazel. I have found each client has given me invaluable experience. There is a lot to learn from your clients and a lot you don’t learn in college. It’s my belief that it’s very important to attempt to freelance, if not be apart of your art community while in college. In the beginning, I’ve done hand shake agreements, but eventually they’ve proved problematic for many factors. Now I work with contracts that clearly state job descriptions and schedules for both myself and the client.
I am also a musician of 15 years. I formed the Americana Folk/Rock group Wormwood Inn and currently working on new material and other side projects.
My music taste is very expansive. It’s impossible to pin me for listening to only one genre of music. My philosophy is good music is good music.
I enjoy spending time with my daughter, my family, and my friends. It’s important to get away from work every now and then!
